COVID-19 Protocols Fall 2021

Agoura Pony Baseball COVID-19 Protocols for the Fall 2021 Season
Revised 9/7/2021

Agoura Pony Baseball is following the required protocols as detailed in the Los Angeles County of Public Health Protocols for Organized Youth Sports effective September 1, 2021.  We are adopting the following rules and procedures. Guidelines specific to fields and facilities are only for those locations managed by Agoura Pony Baseball.  Fields and facilities managed by other leagues may have differing guidelines.

Required Screening Testing for COVID-19
County requirements as of September 1, 2021 are for moderate outdoor risk sports (including baseball):

  • No testing is required for players under 12 years old.

  • If fully vaccinated and 12 years old or older no screening testing is required.

  • If not fully vaccinated and 12 years old or order a weekly negative test result is required for all participants who are playing and staff/coaches.  Please note that weekly school testing fulfills this obligation.

  • Testing can be via any approved method including low cost home testing kits.

Screening Form
APB is working to finalize a process where parents (for players 12 years old or older) and staff/coaches to notify the league:

  • if they are fully vaccinated (a one time screening form for coaches and players 12 years and older) and,

  • if not fully vaccinated, will be able to self declare the results of weekly testing performed to APB online and/or via an application based screening form. (a weekly screening form)*

*This form will be required to be populated and submitted prior to a game for a player (12 years old or older) or coach to be present at a game.   APB WILL NOT be requiring parents to provide copies of their test results or to show proof of testing though.  As related, APB must be notified immediately of any positive tests so we can follow the county tracing and notification protocols.

Notices

  • Signs will be posted prominently indicating no one should attend or participate in a practice or a game if they currently have symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis in the last 14 days.

Face Coverings

  • Participants, staff, coaches and players are not required to wear masks at Lupin (or other fields) but are strongly recommended to wear masks when at the fields.

League COVID-19 Safety Coordinator / Contacting APB if a Player or Coach Tests Positive

  • Our league COVID-19 Safety Coordinator is  Keith Halcovich. The League COVID-19 Safety Coordinator is responsible for notifying league members about potential exposures and following all related protocols and processes.

  • If you, your child, and/or a spectator who attended a game tests positive for COVID-19 and was infectious during your attendance at an APB event, we require that you notify the League COVID-19 Safety Coordinator at [email protected]. In compliance with privacy laws, names of individuals who are sick will not be released.

Steps to Take if a Player or Coach Tests Positive for COVID-19

Steps to take if a player and / or coach tests positive

  • The player’s family or coach must notify the league Covid-19 officer. Please provide the date of positive test in your email.

  • The family will be provided with a home isolation order which states that the player or coach will have to quarantine for 10 days from the date that they are symptom free.
  • Once the player or coach is symptom free they should notify the league and the 10-day clock will begin.
  • Once the 10 days have expired and the player has remained symptom free they will be allowed to resume baseball activities with their team.

Steps to take if a player or coach on another team that they played against in the last 7 days tests positive

  • The player’s family or coach must notify the league Covid-19 officer. Please provide the date of positive test in your email.

  • The players on the opposing team will be identified as close contacts.

  • If a player or coach is deemed a close contact and is fully vaccinated and are asymptomatic are exempt from the 10-day quarantine period.

  • Any player or coach who is deemed a close contact by the league will be notified of an exposure and will be required to quarantine for 10 days from date of exposure provided they remain free of symptoms.

  • Once the 10-day period is up they be notified that they may resume baseball activities with their team.

If a player or coach on a team is exposed to someone that tests positive in the last 14 days

  • The player’s family or coach must notify the league Covid-19 officer. Please provide the date of positive test in your email.

  • The league will then take steps to identify any close contacts in APB to that person since the exposure was non-APB related.

  • The exposed individual is fully vaccinated and not showing any symptoms is exempt from quarantine.  If the exposed individual is not fully vaccinated then they must quarantine for 10 days from the date of exposure.

  • Once the 10-day period is over the exposed individual will be notified by APB that they may resume baseball activities with their team.

Refund Policy

  • The modified Refund Policy for Fall 2021 is HERE.  In summary if all games are cancelled and uniforms are not distributed then we will provide a full refund.  Please review the policy for details of if some, but not all, games are cancelled.

Non compliance with these guidelines will result in suspension or potential removal from the league.
