APB Parents and Players,

Due to COVID related restrictions we are unable to play games at this time.  Also, based on current trends, it does not appear likely that we will be able to play games in the next few weeks.  Therefore we will be moving forward with team based practices at Lupin starting the weekend of 2/13 to the end of March.   

Please note that this is a SEPARATE registration from the Spring 2021 season and registration is open NOW.

REGISTRATION STATUS AS OF Monday, February 8:
 - FOAL (3 to 4 years old as of 8/31/21) - 1 spot remaining (19 are registered)
 - SHETLAND (5 to 6 years old as of 8/31/21) - 0 spots remaining (60 are registered) (0 on waiting list - we will add another team if someone volunteers to manage a Sunday practice team/group)
 - PINTO (7 to 8 years old as of 8/31/21) - 1 spot remaining (87 are registered)
 - MUSTANG (9 to 10 years old as of 8/31/21) - 3 spots remaining (77 are registered)
 - BRONCO (11 to 12 years old as of 8/31/21) - 5 spots remaining (68 are registered)
 - PONY (13 to 15 years old as of 8/31/21) - 1 spot remaining (43 are registered)

An overview of the TEAM BASED PRACTICES are:

What they are:
 - TEAM BASED PRACTICES -  Team based practices at Lupin Elementary with the same group (coaches and players) for 7 consecutive weeks.  Players will only practice with one team for the 7 weeks.  These will be focused on learning the skills for the upcoming spring season for the division the player would be playing in.  
 - PRACTICE PLANS / DRILLS - The league will provide a practice plan (including sequence of what to teach/practice) to follow per division.  This is important as most players have only played a couple of games ever (if at all) in the division they will play in Spring 2021.  Also, we will provide a list of competitive social distanced games that they can end practice to keep the kids engaged.  

When they are:
 - SCHEDULE - The weekend of 2/13 to weekend of 3/27 (7 weeks)  
 - FREQUENCY - Once a week
 - DAYS / TIME - Either Saturday (between 9AM and 5PM) or Sunday (between 11AM and 5PM).  These will be held the same day / time each week per team.
 - PRACTICE LENGTH - Foal, Shetland - 1 hour; Pinto - 1 1/2 hours; Mustang - 1 3/4 hours; Bronco/Pony - 2 hours

Who are the participants:
 - AVAILABILITY - Available on a first come first serve basis based on the numbers by division listed above.  As related a player can only be on 1 team. 
 - ELIGIBILITY - Players that are registered for the Spring 2021 season (which is a currently no charge waiting list).
 - DIVISIONS - Players will be in the division they would play in for the Spring 2021 season.   Please note that the birthdate to the division chart is linked is here > https://www.agouraponybaseball.org/Default.aspx?tabid=2675569   

How to register and registration fee:
 - REGISTRATION - To register your player please login to your account on the league website and register at https://www.agouraponybaseball.org/Default.aspx?tabid=1170247 (starting Saturday, 1/23).  This is a SEPARATE registration from the spring 2021 season.  These are additional practices in preparation for the upcoming seasonThis is a simplified registration requesting the medical waiver, available days and special requests only (should take a couple of minutes to complete).   Also, if you have a $70 credit for the 2020 Spring Season we will void your credit card transaction and add the credit after you have registered (our system does not allow us to credit before registration). 
 - REGISTRATION FEE - $70 per player (Pinto to Pony) / $50 per player (Foal and Shetland) for all 7 practice clinics.
 - REFUNDS IF UNABLE TO COMPLETE SESSIONS - If we are unable to complete the 7 week session due to assessments and spring season team assignments being completed before 3/27 then APB provides refunds for the weeks that were not held.

Team Selection
 - PLAYERS PER TEAM - Twelve (12) with 1 manager and one (or more) coaches (Foal is 10 players per team maximum)
 - PLAYER ALLOCATION - Performed by league with significant input from the managers.  Parents can enter special requests upon registration but we cannot guarantee they will be honored (but we will try). 
 - TEAM DURATION - The practice teams will only be for these 7 weeks and new teams will be created for the Spring 2021 season.

Other Details
 - TEAM CHECK IN PROCESS - We will have a check-in process at the front gate.  This will include verification that your player is practicing at this time and taking their temperature (and the temperature of any other family member that attends with them.
 - SNACK SHACK - The snack shack will NOT be open during these sessions.   As related, we are not allowed to have sunflower seeds at the fields at this time.
 - PARENT ATTENDANCE - Per APB and LVUSD requirements only 1 parent is allowed maximum per player and no siblings.  In addition, we will strongly request that they drop off their players only (especially for players aged 8 and older).  If a parent must stay they must bring their own chairs to sit and social distance from other families.
 - EQUIPMENT - One set of catcher's equipment will be provided by the league per practice team.  This equipment can only be used by one player per practices and must be sanitized between practices.  Also, players may not share equipment such as gloves and bats.
 - DUGOUT USE - The dugouts will be taped off and will not be usable.  Also, all equipment should be stored outside of the dugouts.
 - MASKS - Masks must be worn at all times by parents, coaches and players.  (This is a difference from the fall clinics where they were not required on the field).
 - UNIFORMS - APB League Dri-fits will be provided as part of the registration fees for Foals and Shetland players only. 
 - DRINKS - Please have your player bring their own water/drinks.  We will have extra water on hand for distribution if needed.
 - SOCIAL DISTANCING OF PLAYERS - We require that they keep proper social distancing including the players of at least 6' apart with a suggested 10' apart.
