  •  15th Annual Las Virgenes Baseball Tournament Begins June 13th
The 15th Annual Las Virgenes Baseball Tournament will begin on June 13th and run through June 27th.

Agoura Pony Baseball invites your league to participate in the 15th Annual Las Virgenes Invitational All-Star Tournament. This tournament is a pre-sanction Pony Tournament to help teams prepare for regular sanction play. The tournament will run from approximately June 13, 2008 through June 26, 2008. Most of the tournament games will be held at the Lupin Hill Regional Youth Baseball Complex in Calabasas off Las Virgenes Road.

Each team is guaranteed participation in a minimum of three games using the round robin portion of the tournament to seed the teams in each division, and a single elimination format to decide the championship. Large trophies for first and second place for each division, as well as tournament pins for all participants will be awarded.

Competition is scheduled for Shetland, Pinto "A", Pinto "B", Mustang "A", Mustang "B", Bronco "A", Bronco "B" (as of now "Bronco 11" will play in this division), Pony and Pony "13". We will be limiting the number of teams in the tournament this year so that each team can play more games at the Lupin complex, with the exception of the Shetland division which will be played off-site. To reserve a spot for your team in the tournament, please return the registration form with a non-refundable deposit of $200 as soon as possible, but no later than May 23, 2008. Remember spots are on a first come first serve basis!

ACT TODAY, AS SPOTS ARE FILLING QUICKLY, GO TO "TOURNAMENT HOME" FOR MORE INFORMATION.

  •  Please Extend Courtesy To Our Neighbors
As Parents, Grandparents & Friends we love to cheer and support our team(player) on the field. However, please keep in mind that several homes back up to and/or surround our fields at Lupin. The noise generated from the field(s) can get quite loud and we as good neighbors, need to keep the cheering to a moderate level and as always, keep our comments positive. We welcome both cheering & clapping, but ask that it be kept to a minimum when possible and be respectful of our neighbors.

     SHETLAND ALL-STARS IN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
The Shetland All-star team will be playing against Hart B tonight (Monday 7/16) in Newbury Park at 5pm for the Coast Section Championship. After a slow start, the team went 3-0 through weekend play with the help of solid hitting and base running. Quinn Matulis sparked the team in the first game of Saturday's double header with a 3-run Homerun, with additional key RBI's from Shane Vosberg. In the second game against Ocean view, Adam Stoops blasted a Grand Slam to spark the team, in addition to key hits from Drew Marincic and Graham O'Connor. Daniel Brandolino, batting in the third spot, continued his consistent hitting driving the ball deep towards the fence. Michael Kokiousis continued his solid play defensively including heads-up baserunning in the District tournament against North Valley A to allow the team to continue on to the Coast Section.

The team has had numerous key defensive plays. John Cook and Charles Meisner teamed up for a key tag-out at the plate. Cyrus Sarkary helped in robbing a homerun and then fired a bullet to Danny Rettinger at second for the tag out. John Cook also teamed up with Conner Brinkley for a rally ending play at second base.

Regardless of the outcome of tonight's Section Championship, this team will be moving on to the Regional Tournament in Slymar looking to advance to the Shetland World Series.
