10 former PONY players receive preseason All-American collegiate accolades
PONY Baseball is proud to recognize 10 Division I NCAA baseball players who formerly played PONY Baseball for recently being named Preseason All-Americans by Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
Second-Team
Bryce Fehmel, SO, RHP, Oregon State University / Agoura PONY Baseball in Agoura Hills, California (Collegiate Baseball Newspaper)
Fehmel started his collegiate career in 2016 by coming out of the bullpen for Oregon State, while recording a few successful spot starts. On May 22, Fehmel worked a season-long 7.1 innings on the mound and struck out five, while allowing just six hits and an unearned run in his ninth win of the season. He continued the momentum from that start into his next start against UCLA in which he tossed his first career complete game shutout. It was also his 10th win of the season. The former Agoura PONY standout led the Beavers in ERA (2.31) and wins (10), and he received national freshman and All-Pac-12 accolades. It will be curious to see how Fehmel is used this season, as a starter, back-end reliever and/or closer, but expect to see him in crunch time when Oregon State needs a great outing.
